Oceanside, NY	I'm really happy to see the office grow. Dr. Nish and the new surgeon are great additions. There isn't anyone I'd trust my life to other then them. Dr. Vohra truly is awesome. 5/23/04 - It is almost one year, and there is still nothing I can do or say to thank Dr. Vohra, Amy, Peggy, Danielle, Jill and his newer staff. I am updating this profile because I went shopping for new suits and shirts and am still amazed at the sizes I was able to buy. God Bless Them All. Met with his staff on 1/24 and will see him on 1/29. Just nervous thats all Finally, on 4/29/03 I got a date. The office is great. The program they put you on is so thorough you almost feel fearless. The support staff is awesome, I think if it wasnt for Peggy and Daniel I'd just give...up. And now Amy. They're the best. And he's the best. I very excited about having this done. I have to say, I lost 30lbs so far and at first wasnt happy with optifast, but I understood that for safety he wants you to be as small as possible. But in reality, it forces you to make better choices about food, eat protein to cheat instead of junk and exercise. Overall I think it is an ingenius way of getting patients ready for the change of lifestyle after the surgery.
Massapequa, NY	Dr. Vohra is an excellent surgeon with a great staff. 'Nuff said! The post-op support they offer is second to none which I feel is the key to keeping yourself AND your weight in a reality check!
Lynbrook, NY	I had heard from people who use him that his is very quiet with out much bedside manner. Not a problem, I just wanted him to be an excellent surgeon. I met with Dr. Vohra and over all I find him to be a very pleasant man who spoke to me with concern and respect. He went over everything, we also discussed options. What type of surgery, what would be good for me, etc. Coming away from the meeting, what ever he decides, I have every confidence in him.
Baldwin, NY	Dr. Vohra has been a symbol of professionalism throughout my case. Dr. Nishimura has also been attentive and concerned. Both visited me daily at my stay in the hopsital right after the surgery. Both inquired as to how I was feeling and followed up to make sure that I was walking and performing my breathing exercises. Both have been blunt with me, with regards to the possible risk/hazards involved with surgery. Although Dr. Vohra doesn't have the greatest bedside manner, he is absolutely an excellent surgeon and DOES care about his patients. Dr. Nishimura does have good bedside manner and he is a little more of a people person. Overall, I would rate Dr. Vohra and Dr. Nishimura a 9 out of 10. (everyone has room for improvement).
Westbury, NY	Very Nice and very informative... Same as when first met him, all business... Peggy, Allison, Danielle, Wonderful, I couldn't have done it without them. PA Amy my saviour right now, Amy is great too...Gabe is unbelievable and definitely a Life Saver.. Least, jumps to conclusions right off... He is a great Doctor and is great at what he does... They should know that... Aftercare is a great big part of this.. Yes he has structured program.. He addresses all the issues... He is a wonderful surgeon... He is extremely competent, bedside could be a little better, but don't really care about bedside...His surgery skills are the most important and he IS the Best of the Best...
Massapequa Park, NY	My first impression of Dr. Vohra was of a quiet, intense doctor. I was definitely correct with that impression. He and his staff were extremely professional and thorough with all of my testing and appointments. The day of my procedure, they made me feel very comfortable, as if my friends were all there helping me out. His aftercare program is in place and the entire staff is available for questions, concerns, etc. The monthly support meetings are not only supportive, but very informative, with recipes, handouts and guest speakers. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Vohra to all who are contemplating this surgery. You will be in very good, capable hands!
Brooklyn, NY	08/19/2004 My first impression of Dr. Vohra is that he is confident is his abilities. My impression only got better over time. He is also very caring as well. His staff is the best, especially Amy and Allison. At first I thought he was a bit cold but with time I realize that he is a very warm and friendly man. Future patients should know that if they go with Dr. Vohra, they will be in the best hands. After care seems to be the most important thing besides the surgery. He and his staff wants people to attend the meetings and he also wants to make sure that his patients don't cheat after surgery. Things like optifast seems like a nuisance but it's a necessary evil cause it helps the patient get in the mind frame of loosing weight before they go under the knife. The risk of surgery was address to the fullest. I was even given a mini test/questionaire to see what I understood about the decision I made. I would rate Dr. Vohra and his staff a solid 9. His Surgical competence is his most attractive feature. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Oceanside, NY	My first impression of Dr. Vohra was online when I went to check out doctors who specialize in Bariatric surgery. My second was at one his seminars at the hospital that everyone must take before making an appointment. He was quiet and probably not the best speaker however that is not why I am going to him. I would rather have him be silent and competent rather than all talk. My impression since he has become my surgeon of choice is confident. His office staff are wonderful and run the gammet of being soley professional to animated. I like them, some people I've met don't it's all individual. Personally, I clam up when it comes to doctors and I would like it if the doctor would anticipate standard questions a patient would ask and go over those automatically for those of us whose brain goes silent on office visits. The office does have an immediate structured aftercare program. What he might lack vocally his staff more than makes up for it. At this moment, before surgery, I would rate him very well. I'm not sure of his bedside manner yet, but his office manner was nice and supportive.
Merrick, NY	I found Dr Vohra to be very professional and understanding without passing Judgements. The staff has been very supportive and AMY was at the hospital the day of surgery with my very own "bari-bear" The Dr..well, I can say he is THOUROUGH!!! and THAT is the most important thing. After all we are all higher risk of complications secondary to weight and he makes sure we are at our best poosible pre op state before he will operate. When I went into the OR Dr. Vohra was right there saying hello with a big smile on his face. That definatly helps the state of mind going into surgery. I felt much more relaxed. After my surgery I had some soreness in my calf and Dr. Nishimura sent me for a Doppler to rule out a clot. Neither of us thought I had one but as he says... better safe than sorry. As we thought NO CLOT!!!!
Far Rockaway, NY	I went to Dr. Vohra's office and was very impressed with his staff. Everyone was interested in me, the staff helped me to understand the surgery and all the tests I had to take. I met Dr. Vohra 2 days later and I couldnt believe how interested he was in how I felt, what precedure I was having, If I understood everything that will be happening. At first I was like I have to take all these tests, but am now so glad to see how professional and concerned about my overall health he is. He is not just like some of the other doctors I have heard about-get them in get them out. From what I understand so far from Dr. Vohra and his staff is we are going to be with each other for a very long time and I for one find comfort in the tought that they are that concerned with me and my future.
