Dr. Vohra has one of the most outstanding reputations in Long Island. Anytime I mentioned Dr. Vohra doing my surgery, people would say "He is he Best". And Guess what, HE IS!! The Office staff for the most part is caring and concerned about each patient individually. The office always makes me feel special when I walk through the door. Overall rating for Dr. Vohra and his staff is a 100. |

When I first met Dr. Vohra...the first impression that i got of him was a very confident surgeon. I felt very comfortable with him right away. I would recommend him to anyone who is having the WLS. Although the DR.'s office is ALWAYS SO BUSY...... i love the way they stay on top of things. and they all make you feel so at home during the time you are there in their office. They are so personalable. Dr. Vohra's office also has support groups every month. it is such a HUGE group! When I first walked into the group i said WOW ... LOOK at all these people , they all have smiles on their faces! :)Amy is so awesome! she gives you a bari buddy Teddy bear before you go into surgery.... she is a sweetie!! Allison is another great person to know too! I really adore them all over at Dr. Vohra's Office..... Dr. Vohra also went over the risks of having the gastric bypass surgery. I rate Dr. Vohra a %110 on everything!! He is so cautious.... with everything! his surgical competence is better then his bedside manner. He isn't the warmest person , although when you get to know Dr. Vorha HE is just a great person! and I love all his PA's.... When Dr. Vohra isn't around. I talk to Gabe the PA, or Dr. Nishmuria.... who i absolutely love! What a sweet heart! Thank you Dr. Vohra for saving my life! Your hands are like magic! Hugs & kisses Lizzy |

What was your first impression of him/her? My first impression of Dr. Vohra when I first saw him at one of the conferences was, “He’s young & Handsome" LOL.. I wanted to ask him so many questions but with a room filled with people calling out from all different directions, I waited until I made my first appointment and met with him in person. When I did meet with Dr. Vohra, he was very reassuring, answered all of my questions to the point and was very straightforward. I’ve only met with Dr. Vorha that first time and I’m scheduled to meet with him again tomorrow 8/11/04 after my pre surgical testing. I’m due for my Lap-Band surgery next week August 19th, 2004. I’m kind of scared, but I leave it in gods’ hands. How would you describe his/her office staff? Dr. Vorha overall staffs are all very professional, caring and reassuring. I’ve only had the privilege to really talk to a few and meet one on one with Amy. Amy is just AWESOME!! What did you like least about him/her? On the contraire, I liked everything about him. What should future patients know about him/her? Future patients should know that when they do finally make that final decision to make the drastic life changing choice, that Dr. Vorhra is not only your doctor, but a friend as well. Does he/she have a structured aftercare program? Yes, Dr. Vorha has a support group held once a month. How would you rate him/her overall? Based on the experience I’ve had with both Dr. Vorha, on a scale from 1-10, ten being the highest. I would rate him a 91/2. |

My first impression of the Doctor was that he was extremely informative and took the time to explain everything to me. Contrary to what others have said, he is not at all cold but very nice and friendly. His staff, (Hello Allison), is wonderful. His program is very structured and he seems to take every precaution before surgery to make sure that the outcome will be successful. This is the only surgeon I would trust to do this procedure and I am very happy with my choice. My husband recently had non bariatric surgery with him and says "He is an excellent surgeon and has excellent bedside manner." |

Dr. Vohra is a patient and soft spoken man. He gave me all the time I needed to ask questions and he answered all of them. His credentials are excellent. He has performed more than 1000 laproscopic gastric bypass surgeries. I was very impressed with Dr. Vohra and his staff is WONDERFUL!!! I will be having my surgery on August 10, 2004. I firmly believe that he and his staff will bring me to the other side of this surgery in a dedicated and professional manner. |

WHEN I FIRST WENT TO DR.VOHRA 'S OFFICE I KNEW RIGHT AWAY, WHEN GREETED BY ALLISON THAT THIS WAS GOING TO BE A GREAT JOURNEY. SHE WAS SO BUBBLY, AND FRIENDLY AND MADE YOU FEEL AT EASE. I HAD TO WAIT, BUT THE WAIT DID NOT SEEM LONG DUE TO THE PATIENTS IN THE OFFICE. WE ALL SPOKE, PEOPLE WHO WERE ALL GOING THROUGH THE SAME PROCEDURE. AT TIMES I FELT THIN NEXT TO THE PERSON I WAS SITTING NEXT TO , BUT DEEP DOWN I KNEW WE WERE ALL HERE FOR THAT SAME REASON. WHEN I MET WITH AMY, SHE TOO MADE ME FEEL SO COMFORTABLE. SHE WAS VERY CLEAR WITH EVERYTHING SHE SAID AND EXPLAINS STEP BY STEP THE PROCEDURES ONE GOES THROUGH. MY 1ST MEETING WITH DR.VOHRA WAS A BRIEF ON ,BUT FOUND THAT ANY AND EVERY QUESTION I HAD HE ANSWERED WITH EASE,WHICH MADE ME MORE COMFORTABLE.HE NEVER RUSHED AND TOOK HIS TIME EXPLAINING.I FOLLOWED ALL THE DIRECTIONS OUTLINED TO ME PRIOR TO MY SURGERY, AND FOUND THAT AMY AND DR.VOHRA REALLY TRIED TO WORK AROUND MY SCHEDULE TO DO MY SURGERY. THANK GOODNESS MY SURGERY WAS FINE, AND MY CARE IN THE HOSPITAL WAS WONDERFUL. I WONT LIE, THERE IS PAIN AND DISCOMFORT BUT, LIKE ALL SURGERYS , THE DISCOMFORT EVENTUALLY GOES AWAY AND THE RESULTS ARE JUST WONDERFUL. ITS LIKE SOMEONE TOOK A SWITH AND TURNED OFF YOUR DESIRE TO EAT. THAT IS THE MIRICLE SWITCH THAT DR. VOHRA GAVE ME. I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH DR. VOHRA AND HIS STAFF AND WOULD RECCOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING TO HAVE THIS SURGERY DONE. |

5/23/04 - It is almost one year, and there is still nothing I can do or say to thank Dr. Vohra, Amy, Peggy, Danielle, Jill and his newer staff. I am updating this profile because I went shopping for new suits and shirts and am still amazed at the sizes I was able to buy. God Bless Them All. Met with his staff on 1/24 and will see him on 1/29. Just nervous thats all Finally, on 4/29/03 I got a date. The office is great. The program they put you on is so thorough you almost feel fearless. The support staff is awesome, I think if it wasnt for Peggy and Daniel I'd just give up. And now Amy. They're the best. And he's the best. I very excited about having this done. I have to say, I lost 30lbs so far and at first wasnt happy with optifast, but I understood that for safety he wants you to be as small as possible. But in reality, it forces you to make better choices about food, eat protein to cheat instead of junk and exercise. Overall I think it is an ingenius way of getting patients ready for the change of lifestyle after the surgery. |

Dr. Vohra is very skilled, efficient surgeon. While he is not as friendly or sociable as I would have liked... i guess you could say he doesn't have the best "bed side manor"... he is excellent at what he does, and that is what counts. Dr. Vohra has an excellent staff (both in the hospital and in his office) which makes up for his brisk, business-like manor. Dr. Vohra and his staff are there to help anyone wanting to help themselves, so long as you do your part and follow the rules. I would just advise anyone who goes to Dr. Vohra for this surgery to have lots of TIME!! You will often wait in the office for quite some time while there for appointments. Don't fret and bring a book to read - it's worth the wait. The care you receive pre surgery, during surgery and post surgery is excellent and I would recommend Dr. Vohra and his staff to anyone. |
